Re-treatment involving splinted teeth

Splinted teeth act like a picket fence with lateral support from the adjacent tooth by virtue of connecting both, like a 2X4 between pickets.  Splinted teeth are predictable over time and can be extremely (separate) looking.  Please note the upper left crown appears bent forward as a result of being in a temporary state, however this is the problem for teeth like this that are not splinted.

Pre-Op with left front tooth (#9) temporarily cemented after root canal treatment.

Pre-Op

Post-Op: Splinting crowns prevents posted teeth from bending or breaking in the future, keeping posted crowns from falling off, and still allows for great esthetics.

“No one ever told me how beautiful their crown was when it had fallen off or had broken off their tooth and was in their hand.” – Dr. Glassman
